The ºüÀêÊÓƵ UK Summer Institute on Global Sustainability hosted by theÌýÌýis a four-week cultural and academic programme forÌýundergraduate students, focusing on climate change issues inÌýSouth West England.

The ºüÀêÊÓƵÌýUniversity of Exeter Summer Institute onÌýGlobal Sustainability is aimed at bringing students who are passionate about sustainability and protecting the future of our planet together within the ºüÀêÊÓƵ programme and joining a wider global audience on their Sustainability Summer Programme.ÌýÌý

Participants will explore two main themes: sustainability and civic responsibility for the future of our planet, and the promotion of multicultural idea sharing and learning to help build a global community that is compassionate and understanding of diversity in its actions. Participants are encouraged to explore how STEM can support sustainability within a variety of disciplines across the Faculty of Environment, Science and Economy. The academic content is delivered by scholars whoÌýare at the top of their respective fields, from disciplines such as Earth and Environmental Science,ÌýEcology and Conservation, Engineering, and Mathematics.Ìý

Highlights

  • ºüÀêÊÓƵ Participants will be able to explore and experience London when they first arrive alongside the other students on the International Summer School.ÌýExcursions will include theÌýÌýandÌýÌýTheatre.Ìý
  • Within the academic course itself on the Sustainability Summer Programme,ÌýparticipantsÌýwill have the chance to go on a field trip toÌýthe University of Exeter’sÌýÌýin Cornwall and the world-famousÌý, with thematic input from their world leading experts, as well as the standard Higher Education experience of lectures, seminars and workshops.ÌýÌý
  • Free weekends for independent travel or organized tours toÌý, theÌýÌýandÌý, as well as other areas and activitiesÌý

Participants who successfully complete the Summer Institute will receive 7.5 ECTS (equivalent to 3 or 4 US semester credits).Ìý
